Steveston's Canada Day Schedule

I have attended Canada Day last year in Steveston Richmond and will go there again this year to celebrate Canada's 150th year. I heard that this will be one of the biggest celebration because it is Canada's 150th birthday!  There will be some street parties, salmon festival, parades and a lot more activities. But wait, don't forget my most favorite part...the Fireworks!!!

The event will be on Saturday July 1, 2017, from 10AM to 10:30PM. The best part is it's for FREE.

According to RichmondCanadaDay website the road closures will begin at 8AM before the start of the parade.  Moncton Street will re-open at 5PM and sections of Bayview No. 1 Road and First Avenue will remain close until 11PM after the fireworks so better plan ahead on how are you going to go there. You can walk and burn extra calories but I'm not sure where to start the walking part. You can also bring your bike and store it in the bike parking which is like a secured compound for strollers and bikes. You can find the two bike parking locations here: 1) Gulf of Geogia Wheel Watch which is open from 9:30 to 23:00 and 2) Steveston Community Center BEST Bike Valet which is open from 8:00 to 18:00.  You can also take the shuttle bus from Richmond City Hall to Britannia Shipyard which will leave at 8:30AM and runs a frequency of every 20 minutes or you can also just take the bus and then walk. If you will bring a car, the parking will surely be a problem.

I also got a copy of the Steveston Canada Day event schedule and map from the same website. You can click on the image then right click open image in a new tab to zoom in and make the photo more readable.
